VTEC offers a variety of vocational courses, from Certificate to Advanced Diploma level, as well as short courses, all of which are industry endorsed and nationally accredited.

About the Opportunity


An opportunity exists for a VET Lecturer / Workplace Assessor - Electrical to work from VTEC's Kalgoorlie campus.

The primary focus of the role is the delivery of high-quality electrical training to a range of clients, including apprentices. The position is a two year contract, from Jan 2009 to Dec 2010.

Most important is the desire and drive to teach others, and help them learn about the electrical trade.

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. You will receive extensive support from VTEC, along with a range of professional development and career advancement opportunities.

VTEC also offers staff flexibility in employment. For example, you will enjoy flexible working hours (with an average of 37.5 hours per week over the academic year).

The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive starting salary circa $55,948 - $63,441, PLUS superannuation, PLUS subsidised housing, district allowance, and settling-in costs!

Specific benefits include:

  • Payment of air-fares for you and your family to move to Kalgoorlie, as well as removal assistance
  • Possibility of government housing (which amounts to a saving for staff of approximately $12,000 per annum), with the average rent price being $160 per week

  • 30 days annual leave, plus two travel days, Christmas shutdown period, all public holidays and a biennial travel allowance
